Venice doesn't seem to be very active in the UN at present. Does anyone have any thoughts as to how - if at all - we can make our presence felt on the world stage.

Try to get more nations to join the UN?
Create some issues?

This is worth a try - especially if we can come up with some sort of overall agenda...

Overall agenda for Venice?
Or overall agenda for formulating an issue?

I was thinking of an overall agenda for Venice. I was thinking in terms of trying to start a debate as to what Venice stands for as a region and then creating and supporting UN resolutions that reflect those values.

Okay. Sounds good. I have never drawn up an agenda. Is there some standard outline we could follow?

Good Question. I've had a bit of a look around but haven't been able to find any standard outline, but my suggestion would be to prepare and negotiate and ratify a regional treaty and then oblige the region's UN delegate to vote in accordance with the results of the treaty.
I'm not sure of the best way to organise this, but would suggest that for the prepare and negotiate stage someone starts a thread suggesting what they want to achieve, so that we could negotiate what should and shouldn't be in the treaty.
Once the negotiations are concluded we start a seperate ratification thread with the final treaty and a poll. Once the treaty is ratified it becomes regional policy and we would expect the UN delegate to vote accordingly.
I'm not sure how workable this would be, but a bit of regional politics would certainly make things interesting. So any comments or suggestions are encouraged
